This week at One Six Games - 15/03/14

This post is a little later than I normally post due to being crazy busy this week. Just a heads up to anyone that is interested in whats happening with the latest game in production. Robotic Crusade is nearly ready for distribution, the main thing left is a few more levels to create. All the mechanics are in place, the process is not really just polishing the game up to a better standard.

There have been a few more things that have been in production and ill tell you a little about that in the next section. At the moment, ill just talk about whats been happening with some of the stats. So far out of the three games already released from One Six Games, is that each game has performed better than the last. Mambo Jambo still continues to have a fair amount of plays each day. Bloomer
Run and Mayhem Street continue to have a few plays coming up to nearly a month after releasing I didn't expect them to be getting any!

This is great and has succeed all expectations and only continues to raise the standards and expectations of my games to keep this momentum up.

About that thing I mentioned earlier in the post... Well the reason that Robotic Crusade is taking a little longer to release than anticipated is because I have decided to try my hands at some new software for making my games. I am currently learning through a number of tutorials and books to be able to create a more professional looking game that's created entirely by myself and without of the aids of others artwork. I am looking more into pixal art as well as 3D art and will be trying my hand at a simple 3D game in the future.

Watch this space as I will be continuing my posts while balancing everything else in my life right now. Thanks for reading and as always, if you would like to communicate with me then do so via the contact page.

This week at One Six Games - 04/03/14

This week has been pretty exciting towards development and facts and figures to the already released games.

Bloomer Run has proved some great success still this week and has exceeded beyond what was expected, last week it was announced that Bloomer Run was available on over twenty five flash game portals. This week, Bloomer Run is available to play on over 40 different portals! This is an incredible achievement for One Six Games and has enjoyed over 1000 plays in it's first two weeks of release.

In other news, Mambo Jambo is performing greatly with some great feedback and reviews. More on this to follow.

On the development side of things, a new game is in production and close to the releasing stage. I don't want to release too much information at the moment, but I will say that it is a robotic platform shooter with a sci-fi theme. This game has standards of high expectation with every game proving better than the last. The objective is to keep this momentum going.

For the next week in the studio is to progress with the game, and get it to a completed standard sooner rather than later but with no rush.

We are also looking into the marketing and social media side of the business to improve and try and gain more people to play the games that have been released. So if anyone out there has any suggestions that can help, would love to hear!

New Release: Mambo Jambo

Another new release has come out of the studio this week, Mambo Jambo is another platform game. We did announce that another platform game may have been in the works and now it's been released!

Similar to Bloomer Run, Mambo Jambo is trying to collect all the Emeralds. Not everything is as simple as it seems, Mambo has to avoid all the crazy enemies and traps that lay before his path. Introducing some new features in the game compared to its successful predecessor, comes flying enemies in the shapes of birds, bigger levels and even more deadly traps.

You can play Mambo Jambo by clicking here.

This week at One Six Games 25/02/14

After the release of Bloomer Run and Mayhem Street, this week has been all about promoting the games and planning the development of the next game. With major success than what was anticipated and some great reviews they both exceeded what was expected.

As Bloomer Run was the better and more playable game, it was decided that this was the main focus. Both games were uploaded to major game portals, it has travelled well and so far can be found on over 25 flash game portals.

With little under a week after being published to the world, the game plays are incredible! So thank you to anyone who has taken the time to enjoy it. As always, your comments and reviews are always welcome, as this helps the development cycle when producing the next!

Although this is something that I have been working on, I have also taken some time out of promotion to work on a new game. Following the current success of Bloomer Run, I have decided to create another Platform game, this time with a few more twists and turns along the way. The game levels will be a lot bigger and trickier with a few more enemies and obstacles to overcome.

Once the game has had a few more adjustments to it, I will be announcing so once again, check back here to find out.

Mayhem Street: First Look

Mayhem Street is the latest retro style game from One Six Games. The vertical scroller action makes the player control a car racing through a street with so many obstacles in the way, which challenges the player to avoid the obstacles in order to achieve a high score. One of the unique features of this game is that it allows you to shoot obstacles that may be in your way.

All graphics have been designed by the Studio and this is a first and hope that many more will come alive in the near future. At the moment, this is the only game in development.

Keep a look out for more updates on when the game will be released and ready to play. If you have any suggestions or comments that could help towards the development of the game, please do not hesitate to get in touch via one of the many ways of contact on this blog.

A brief look at the time ahead

As this is the first post of my game development blog, I am not going to bore you all with a welcome world post. Instead I thought this would be a perfect time to introduce you to a brief look at what is in development and what the plans are for the near future of One Six Games.

First off let me talk to you about the first prototype that is already available to play under the games page in the link bar. Bloomer Run is the first real platform that has been created. Although there are some bugs and fixes that need to be rectified but the game is playable. I wanted to recreate a game that I loved so much just as everybody else does. That is a Mario spin off.

The objective though is a little different, you have to travel through various levels to collect all the coins in order to progress. Its not that simple! You do have to watch out for the enemies and spike traps that await this character to get to the end of the game.

Please take a look and all comments are valuable to improve on the core game and its mechanics. Although it is not a very pretty game to look at, it is something that is in the works and to use my own graphics to make the game, in my opinion more professional as a developer. As this was my first game that I can say that I am proud of, I have decided to leave it for the time being and work on improving my skills on a completely new game.

Which brings me to my next subject. I have designed a vertical scroller titled "Mayhem Street" in which all the graphics I have designed myself, including the background, cars and the obstacles that you will face in the game. This is the first attempt at the graphics in which I have used anyways. So I hope once the core mechanics are finally tuned and polished then it will sure be on this blog for you to play. Again comments and views on the game would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment in time of the games life, its not a simple duck and weave out of the way of the obstacles, you can control the car to go a little faster to increase your score multiplier. As you know with any game, the obstacles will come at you faster in which your returned rewards are greater.

What's happening now?

Well I am glad you asked. At the moment I am working on Mayhem Street until I am happy with it. Although I am currently putting all my time into this game, I am planning my next one and I am hoping that the knowledge of the two games that I have made, that I can put them together to create a really awesome game.

I will post details and previews of my latest goings on, so do check back. Or if you like, connect with me through one of my social networks on the right side of this blog. I am very active and would like to connect with other people who are interested in the same things as me. If you are a fan of my work, then please do connect. I will answer any questions you have and take any suggestions on board.
